Salix discolor - American pussy willow - glaucous willow

学名 Salix discolor 的柳树，俗名有 American pussy willow 和 Glaucous willow。这里有两篇文章（1）（2）介绍柳树。安省两种本地柳树灌木，这是其中之一，另外一种是 Bebb's Willow。

Mount Joy Lake 边上的小 pond 的桥两边（出水口那里）有好几簇 Pussy Willow 灌木。

Milne Dam Conservation Park 的 Lake Lookout 边上有一簇 Pussy Willow 灌木。

猫柳一般都是灌木，也有长成小乔木的，所以在本地看到灌木的柳树就有可能是猫柳。还有一个特征就是它的叶子：

Pussy Willow’s most distinctive characteristic, making it relative easy to identify, is its large, elliptic leaf, dark green above and glaucous (blueish-white) below, with lateral, raised veins curving toward the apex.

猫柳最显著的特征是它的大的椭圆形叶子，叶子上面深绿色，下面像有白霜（蓝白色或者淡灰绿色），侧向凸起的叶脉向顶端弯曲，因此猫柳最显著的特征使其相对容易识别。

tapering (cuneate) to rounded leaf bases. tapering - 由粗到细或上粗下细的；cuneate - （叶等）楔形的。

upper surface smooth (glabrous) at maturity, dull to slightly shiny. glabrous - 无毛的、光滑的。成熟时上表面光滑（无毛），暗绿色到微微发亮。

margins crenate, with broadly-spaced rounded teeth, to nearly entire. crenate - 圆 (形锯) 齿状的。叶边缘圆形锯齿状的，具间隔宽的圆形齿，几乎全部边缘。

lower surface glaucous, glabrous at maturity. 下表面有白霜，成熟时无毛。

acute to acuminate leaf apex. 锐尖到有尖头的叶顶端
