Popeyes买一送一欺骗式的优惠条款

今天在 Popeyes App 上看到一个 BOGO(买一送一)优惠,我们先来看一下具体内容:

优惠的详细条款如下:

For a limited time only, Popeyes Rewards Members can get two Classic Chicken Sandwiches for the price of one (before applicable taxes and fees), when making a qualifying minimum purchase of $12 (before applicable taxes and fees). 但实际情况却是,在 App 上结账时,系统依然按全价收取,未能自动应用 BOGO 优惠。店员解释说,必须先消费 $12.00,然后才有资格获得“买一送一”。这就很离谱了。

回家后,我发现 Popeyes 还通过电邮推广了类似的 BOGO 优惠,不过条款明显不同,来看下图:

相比之下,电邮里的条款更清晰,虽然依然有点绕,但稍加研究或借助 ChatGPT 还是能理解的。完整条款如下:

For a limited time only, buy one Classic Chicken Sandwich and get another for free on your next order of $12 or more at participating CA Popeyes® restaurants. 这个版本的 BOGO 优惠逻辑是:第一单只需购买一个 Classic Chicken Sandwich,不需要满足 $12.00 的门槛。但第二单消费满 $12.00,才能领取一个免费的 Classic Chicken Sandwich。

除此之外,电邮版的条款还明确规定了活动时间,只在 2025 年 3 月 1 日至 3 月 2 日有效。

如果我是 Popeyes 管理层,我一定会开除写 App 版 BOGO 说明的那位。或者,Popeyes 的市场团队本来就打算用这种“欺骗式的宣传”来误导消费者。

好了。这个优惠失去了我的兴趣,我已经到了店里,也不想空手而归,于是就想重复上次的 Big Box,开始当场在 App 上下单。在研究了 Popeyes 的全部菜品后,我这次看什么都一目了然,不像之前那样糊里糊涂地下单。不看不知道,一看吓一跳。原来 Big Box 宣传的 2 signature chicken 并不包含 breast,只能是 wing/thigh/leg 中的两个。如果要点 breast,一个加 $1.50。怪不得上次我没有吃到 breast,心里还嘀咕。我今天只有空手而归了。

麦当劳从来不搞晦涩难懂的推广。每个优惠直接给出选择立即可下单。Tim Hortons 和 Popeyes 必须去凑,凑不上就要去看条款,现场做英文阅读理解。

也难怪,Popeyes 母公司 Restaurant Brands International 的股票多少年都涨不起来。旗下的第一大品牌 Tim Hortons 天怒人怨。Burger King 的营收只有麦当劳的五分之一。
